In the search for convenience, many families have made a habit of dining out and taking their leftover food home. When dining at home, people often cook more food then they plan to eat, and save the leftovers to eat another day for freeze dried food. Other families with busy schedules often cook one meal and reheat it several times a night as different family members arrive from their work and activities.

We read in the press about the "War on Drugs" and the "Battle of the Bulge". Television tells us to fight the flu, legal battles or the war in Haiti. Our doctors tell us we are fighting cancer or in a battle with obesity.

Some are seeking love in a bottle. Others look for it on the streets and many are trying to find it in their food.

The thought that every great thing that has ever happened, been spoken or invented began first with a single idea is not a new one, but one I don't think many people have taken to heart.

I find that many people are constantly getting ideas. That is their mind is producing many new thoughts on a regular basis. This is incredible because that means that the seeds for great things are right there in the soil of our minds and hearts.

Unfortunately, we all too often do not let those seeds grow.

Instead we dismiss the idea.

There was a class of "challenged" children and many teachers were brought in over time but each one ended up quitting in frustration. Finally, a teacher was brought in and a miracle happened. That class of students ended up becoming a group of happy, well- behaved and good students. What happened?

It is that time of year again. YuletideChristmas in the air. Nostalgia, goose pimples and casting off all financial discipline. It was originally meant to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ. Joy to the world, and good will to all men

Then the commercial establishment descended and hijacked the season. Coca Cola dug into the archives, fished out Saint Nicholas, dressed him in Coca Cola colors with a long white beard, and christened him Santa Claus. It has become:

Joy to the world, and good sales to all shop owners.

One definition of creativity states that creative people look at
the same thing everyone else does, yet they see something
no one else does.

But even creative people (which includes all of you, of
course) can run into roadblocks every now and then.
Sometimes it's not possible to see something different.
Sometimes you've just been staring at a problem for so long
it's now impossible to look at it in any other way.
